I’ve seen the wicked one’s
wicked plans
poisoning their people
a plague upon the righteousness of man
and those same wicked one’s
wicked hands
built that crooked steeple
cursed the ground on which it stands
I’ve heard the drummers beat
calling me
pulsing in it’s brilliance
the rhythm of the ritual command
I’ve heard the dire screams
bellowing
faintly in the distance
spreading dread across the land
In my dreams
I’m wandering alone
In my dreams
Your tomb becomes their throne
I know they’re watching me
cunningly
twisted crown of thorns to
place above the brow of heresy
and if the moon becomes
the frozen sun
don’t say I didn’t warn you
the truth is there for all to see
In my dreams
I’m wandering alone
In my dreams
Your tomb becomes their throne
To the altar they will crawl
Behind those temple walls
Glory in his name
But when that hammer falls
Obliterates it all
My spirit still remains
OMG, late to the party but this is some of the best occult infused doom stoner tackle I've ever heard. Reference points include Sabbath (obvs), especially with the Ozzy-esque vocals but there's also the melodiousness of early Heep mixing with a more contemporary occult rock sound. It starts in the 70's and makes it to the present day. The riffs are huge but it's their way with a hook that elevates this from your average doom/stoner fare. Very wonderful indeed! egg-magoo
Trailblazing psych duo White Hills return with another batch of bottom-heavy stoner-y anthems submerged in 200 tons of guitar. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 17, 2022
The flac version of this sounds great in my truck... not a crunch, clip or boom to be heard. That, in itself, gets this major points.
This is a lovely combination of early Floyd, U2 and a few San Francisco bands from the '60s with a heavy dose of Helmet tossed in. It's definitely best of breed when it comes to modern psych stuff. Even without a Hammond B3, it gets an easy A+... rick-taylor
